Wedding photographers will have their own photos they will capture on the day with important ones including the first kiss, first dance and the bride walking down the aisle. However, couples should also have an idea of the kinds of photos they'd like to have and suggest these to their photographer if they haven't discussed them already.
Matt Dahan from ParrotPrint.com says, "Your wedding happens once and you want to capture as much as you can so you have some really lovely memories to look back on. As a couple it's always a good idea to sit down with your wedding photographer and talk about how you want your pictures to look and the kinds of images you want captured.
"Moments like walking down the aisle will definitely be on your photographer's list, but if there are some specific pictures you want, don't be afraid to ask for them. It's important to get some fun photos in there too like popping a bottle of champagne with your bridesmaids or groomsmen and an exciting shot of the couple sneaking away from the reception!"
Opening morning gifts
Some couples like to surprise one another with gifts on the morning of their wedding. If you do decide to do this, ask the photographer to capture this moment. Natural reactions from opening gifts can lead to some beautiful pictures.
Getting ready with bridesmaids and groomsmen
Getting ready with bridesmaids and groomsmen are such special moments for the bride and groom and it's usually the start of their big day. Ask your photographer to capture some natural pictures of everyone getting ready, laughing and enjoying each other's company.
Champagne shot
If you're not having a religious ceremony you might want to open a bottle of bubbly while you're getting ready. Gather your bridesmaids or your groomsmen and ask your photographer to get a shot of you popping a bottle of champagne as you get ready for your big day.
Putting jewellery on
Once you have your wedding dress on, you can get some really elegant images of a bride putting on her earrings or fixing her bracelet. You can also ask for these shots of the groom, fixing his tux or putting on a watch. These solo shots really capture the couple's last solo moments before walking down the aisle.
The first look
One of the most special moments of the day is when the person at the bottom of the aisle sees their partner-to-be for the first time. Photographers will definitely be ready to capture the bride walking down the aisle, but it's a good idea to ask them to capture your husband's reaction as well.
Aerial shots
Leaving the ceremony is something your photographer will certainly capture but why not ask them to take this from an aerial view. You could even ask for a similar shot when having your first dance.
Sneaking off
Just before your reception begins, you may want to grab a moment to create the perfect "sneaking off" picture where it looks like the couple are running away for some alone time. These are really fun pictures to look back on and creating them will depend on where your reception is. For example if it's in a hotel, why not run down one of the corridors or get a picture leaving the doors of your venue.
