Beckie and Huw met at work and hit it off from the start.
"Huw proposed to me during a walk that we love to do near my family home in Buckland," Beckie tells us. "It was on 15th January 2021 and was a wonderful surprise!"
Beckie wanted to get married close to where she grew up. "I regularly attend the local church service throughout the year so it seemed like
the natural choice to get married in," she tells us. "I wanted the reception to be in Buckland so hiring a marquee offered us that flexibility."
Here, Beckie tells us all about their special day decorated with a timeless white and green colour theme.
Huw hadn't seen the vintage wedding car that myself and my dad organised which was a wonderful surprise! Travelling to Buckland in it together was one of the highlights of the day because it gave us some time alone to enjoy each other's company.
Getting married and then walking out of the church and seeing all of our loved ones was a really special moment.
Our elegant green and white floral centrepiece arrangements were made by a family friend, Frank, who did an incredible job.
Frank also created our other flower arrangements
Our cake looked fantastic and tasted delicious!
Richard and Shelley Terry, previously from The Lamb at Buckland provided our catering and our wedding was their last event.
We had a circular-shaped top table which worked well and our green place cards had the names hand-written on them in silver. Each one was attached to a napkin with a sprig of rosemary as a symbol of remembrance for those that could not be there. Our favours were small bottles of sloe gin made by Huw's mum.
The table names were inspired by places that are significant to us both
During the evening reception, we hired a DJ who was a local friend and he did an incredible job!
Bales of hay with rugs were arranged outside the marquee to provide a seating area with festoon lighting which looked so romantic. We also made a large sofa out of bales of hay which was cool!
I wore a sleeveless halterneck dress from Romantica of Devon which was ideal for a hot day!
I teamed my dress with a long veil and a tiara.
I also wore a Tiffany & Co. pearl bracelet which was a gift from Huw and a pair of diamond earrings
Huw and his groomsmen all wore morning suits with stylish dove grey-coloured double-breasted waistcoats, navy ties and a white rose button hole.
Our beautiful bridesmaids wore forest green, full-length sleeveless dresses.
Everything came together just as we had hoped and we felt blessed to have all our family and friends celebrating with us.
Enjoying sparklers outside at dusk with our loved ones provided the perfect end to our fairytale day.
