Your Yorkshire Wedding - January/February 2025 (Issue 70)

I travelled to the venue in a classic Laudaulette. James was nervous too. He spent the morning with his best men having a few drinks. The worst bit for him was when people began arriving and he was just standing there waiting for it all to start. I felt fine all the way up until the last hour when the nervous, sicky feeling started creeping in. I was stood at the sink in my wedding dress washing the pots to try to take my mind off it! I was with my dad just before the car came to pick us up, and he calmed me down. He calmed me down – he’s one of those painfully laid back people! A highlight for me was walking down the aisle and seeing James and all of our loved ones. It was the most amazing feeling. Seeing the venue before everyone joined us for the wedding breakfast was special too, it looked better than I’d ever imagined. Our centrepieces included floating candles with eucalyptus and gold petals sprinkled around the tables and our place names were gold hexagons with guests names handwritten onto them. They had pearls around the edges to mirror my veil. We chose Wherther’s Originals as our favours. They’re gold to go with our theme and were sweets my grandma and grandad always had in the house. 29 REAL WEDDINGS
