“I’m quite an emotional person and couldn’t hold back the tears as I walked down the aisle,” Hannah continues. “Kyle was cool, calm and collected. I don’t think either of us stopped smiling the whole day after the nerves about being the centre of attention had passed. We were grinning from ear to ear. SETTING THE SCENE Going hand in hand with their elegant stately home vision, the couple decided on a neutral and timeless palette accented with green foliage and cream florals. Their reception space was laid out as one long banqueting table for their 38 guests, adorned in a trail of loose eucalyptus stems running its full length, along with hurricane vases of varying heights filled with water and floating candles. “The centrepieces fit in perfectly with my theme of neutral tones. The greenery was simple but still had the wow factor,” Hannah explains. The bridal bouquet complemented the rest of the flowers beautifully with more green foliage, white roses and gypsophila. The bride tribe’s main component was gypsophila with sprigs of eucalyptus to tie in with Hannah’s bouquet. “They looked perfect together,” she says. “One of the only bits of DIY I did for the day was the favours,” Hannah tells us. “These were sweets in clear packets sealed with stickers bought on Etsy.” The stickers read: “his favourite,” and “her favourite.” Hannah filled hers with blue and white dolphin sweets, while Kyle’s pick was blue and pink fizzy bottles. The place names too came from Etsy. They were white card with elegant black script writing and a white rustic bow. The bride also made the wedding’s welcome sign using a second-hand mirror and decals reading, “Welcome to our forever.” This was placed on an easel at the front door of the hall. Also, designed to fit the wedding’s palette was the cake. Its two tiers were iced in cream and adorned in pearls. The couple opted for the classic Victoria sponge, Hannah’s favourite; and lemon with lemon buttercream, Kyle’s favourite. Saltmarshe Hall has its own in-house catering team who made sure the couple and their guests were treated to the chef’s finest dishes. “The food was 10-out-of-10,” we’re told. CELEBRATE IN STYLE The couple hired some lawn games, which proved a huge hit with their loved ones. These included hearts and kisses, tin can alley, tug of war, Connect4, giant Jenga, cornhole, croquet and sports day races, such as egg-and-spoon, sack race and three-legged race. In the evening a DJ brought the party vibe, while Jamie Warren Magician performed some close up magic. Guests were blown away by his tricks! WITH THANKS Hannah shares, “The whole team at Saltmarshe Hall were very accommodating to all our wants and needs. They took all the stress out of organising suppliers and making sure everything was in order. Each and every staff member did everything they could, and they all went above and beyond to ensure our day ran seamlessly. Without the amazing wedding coordinators and the rest of the team, our day wouldn’t have gone as perfectly as it did.” THE GREAT ESCAPE The newlyweds jetted off on honeymoon three days later to the beautiful Caribbean island of Jamaica. Kyle had always wanted to go and Hannah was happy with any sun, sand and sea destination, so the decision was an easy one. “As soon as I saw we could go horse-riding on the beach, I was sold,” Hannah says. They stayed in an adult-only resort, The Hideaway at Royalton Negril and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. “We loved the culture, and the beautiful hot weather was a bonus too!” Hannah tells us. “We loved it that much, we’ve booked to go back for our anniversary to see another part of the island.” 25 REAL WEDDINGS
