I’d love to say there’s a wonderful, romantic love story about how we met,” Hannah begins. “But it’s probably how most start these days, on good old social media!” She met Kyle through Facebook in 2015: a friend request was sent and received, a few profile picture likes were exchanged, which in turn led to messaging and the rest is history. Kyle proposed four days before Christmas in 2021, and the moment was just how Hannah had dreamed it. “I’d taken a day off work to go to the hairdressers and do the beauty prep for the festive period,” she remembers. “When I got home, I was met by Daisy, our English bulldog, wearing a new red collar. I didn’t think anything of it, just said ‘hello’ and continued on into the living room where I found Kyle. He was on one knee holding out the most beautiful wedding ring with Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas playing in the background.” His question was met with much excitement, and of course, the all-important, “Yes!” Kyle then went on to ask if Hannah had seen the tag on Daisy’s collar, she admitted that she hadn’t, and bent down to check then. It read: “Will you marry dad?” The couple’s vision for their big day included a grand stately home surrounded by acres of grounds and Saltmarshe Hall fit the bill exactly. Hannah remembers, “The approaching drive and grounds were just what we had in mind, and the neutral décor inside was beautifully in keeping with the Grade II listed Hall. The wedding co-ordinators, Amy and Ashleigh, were absolutely amazing every step of the way, we knew from our first visit that this was the place for us.” So, without any further ado, the date was set for 31st August, 2023. We caught up with Hannah to find out more... LOOKING THE PART Hannah wore a beautiful mermaid-style dress from the Love by Enzoani Collection, Alara. “I wanted something figure-hugging but also breathable and comfy to wear. Alara exceeded all my expectations, I felt a million dollars in it,” she explains. She finished the look with a statement ivory, cathedral-length veil with a floral beaded pattern around the bottom edge. Kyle wore a Marc Darcy three-piece suit in blue with a brown herringbone tweed waistcoat. “This was perfectly suited to the country vibes of the venue,” Hannah says. He styled his look with a pair of tan brogue shoes and a bronze pocket watch. The groom chose the same suits for his groomsmen. Hannah’s bridesmaids wore gorgeous satin dresses in olive green, while her maid-of-honour wore a long floaty gown, again in olive, with a different neckline. Meanwhile, the flowergirl looked super-cute in her lovely ivory dress with a lace top and floral detail. It was finished with an olive satin belt. “WE DO” “We both felt like we’d been waiting forever for the day to come, and it was finally here,” Hannah says. “I felt a big adrenaline rush just before I walked down the aisle.” Possibly responsible in part for this was the best man forgetting the rings! Hannah was about to walk out of the registrar interview and was about to begin her walk down the aisle when there was an almighty, “STOP!” from Amy, the wedding coordinator. The bride peeked through the gap in the door to see best man Matt hurtling up the stairs. “Typical disorganised men,” Hannah laughs. “ REAL WEDDINGS 23
