Your Yorkshire Wedding - January/February 2024 (Issue 64)

When booking any vendors make sure you get along with that person because they really do make your wedding day and don’t be afraid to voice your opinion, no one will be offended if you aren’t happy with the first make-up trial or want to change the font on the stationery because it isn’t what you had imagined. Centrepieces were from All Occasions Florist in Howden who also did the bouquets and buttonholes. The girls were amazing and made my vision a reality. They even included pheasant feathers in all the floral arrangements as a nod to my family business. I did all the of stationery for the day myself including the wedding newspaper for the ceremony, menus, name cards, and the table plan. One of my bridesmaids is a very talented, professional cake maker and wanted to make our cakes for us. She knew the colour palette and created three of the most beautiful bakes I have ever seen. Flavours were red velvet, Kinder, and gluten-free vanilla bean. I used to be an events manager, so I’ve seen many weddings and knew the smallest of details mattered to me. A lot of the decoration including the mirrors for the welcome signs and table plan, and the glass candle holders I sourced myself from car boot sales and charity shops. I even collected and spray-painted toy dinosaurs and unicorns for the children’s name cards. The food was incredible! The Hog and Apple worked with us to create a perfect menu. For the wedding breakfast we had sharing boards for all three courses: Yorkshire deli board, barbecue sharing board and a trio of desserts. For the evening food we had our caterer’s speciality burgers with loaded fries. 43 REAL WEDDINGS
