I’m a keen gardener, so I wanted succulents for the favours and we as a family are into Pokémon so some small touches throughout the wedding gave a nod to that including the table names. We both knew the look we wanted when looking for inspiration – a black and burgundy gothic wedding was perfect for us. Our little girl, Chloe, read a poem during the ceremony: A Lovely Love Story by Edward Monkton. It was one of the more emotional parts of the day. Having your children be involved throughout the day is just an amazing feeling. Stephen wore a Marc Darcy black three-piece suit with a black shirt and tie. He wore Dr Martens boots too, his were in black. Both best men wore black suits with burgundy shirts to match the bridesmaids’ dresses. I wore Carvela Lovebird vinyl heels for the ceremony and then changed into a pair of white Dr Martens platform boots. After visiting various bridal shops my mum and I finally went to Jaynes Bridalwear in Doncaster. They were incredible with a selection of dresses in all sizes, this really helped me to find the one. I chose Hepburn from the Pronovias Hollywood Glamour Collection. It was the perfect princess style I’d been looking for and it had pockets! 42
