Ian bought Italian-cut blue suits for himself, our dads and his brother, who was best man. A violinist performed for us as I walked up the aisle, as well as throughout our wedding breakfast. When the registrar asked if there was any reason why this man and woman should not be married, I put my fingers to my lips in a ‘let me think about this’ moment. I then turned around to check if anyone had an objection, which caused a few laughs. Also on hand to help were two more friends, one handmaking Belgian chocolate bars, and the other creating keyrings with guests’ names on as place settings. Whitley Hall has it all – location, privacy and photo opportunities everywhere you look. Our favours were handmade by a friend; iced biscuits with our names on. Everyone loved them! 32
