FINISHING TOUCHES We want to wed in Harrogate but are struggling to find a venue contemporary in design. Can you help? The Yorkshire Hotel is located in the heart of Harrogate, and is the perfect venue for your day. We’ve undergone a stunning refurbishment, staying true to our Victorian heritage while preparing the hotel for the next 100 years of its life, with modern and contemporary touches throughout. Located on the fifth floor, our wedding suite offers breath taking views of the historic town and further afield, while our wide range of catering allows us to tailor packages to fit your vision and budget. Both our food menu, crafted by the group’s AA rosette Head Chef, Richard Ferebee; and our drinks, blended by Barman of the Year, Dario Silveria, can be built to suit you as a couple, for an unforgettable, carefree day. Simon Cotton, The Yorkshire Hotel | www.the-yorkshire.co.uk LOVE LETTERS What style and colour do you suggest for our late autumn invitations? Wedding stationery is the first impression your guests get of your big day, which usually reflect your theme. Our autumn wedding range is one such suggestion, with rustic, earthy tones including burnt orange and deep reds. However, for something a bit more contemporary, why not consider navy blue ink with gold metallic hints? If you want your invitations to look more modern, try wooden designs or a combination of rich colour with geometric shapes. Whatever you choose, remember your invites are just a part of the big picture when it comes to your amazing day. And we’re always here to recommend a great range of designs that will be right up your street! Andy Murrell, Yorkshire Wedding Invites | www.yorkshireinvites.co.uk DARLING BUDS I keep reading about the importance of using seasonal flowers for our wedding. Why is this – and what flowers should we consider for our August day? Being a sustainable florist, I agree wholeheartedly! The varieties in season will be in abundance, so are more likely to offer better value for money. I also work with local growers which means the distance from field to bouquet is limited, making the flowers more environmentally friendly with a lower carbon footprint to boot. Some of my favourites for a summer wedding would include Butterfly Ranunculus, Cosmos in several varieties, Achillea in various tones, Sweet Peas, Larkspur, Cornflower, Nigella, Scabiosa and Clematis, to name a few. Almost all varieties come in a wide choice of colours and tones, so anything is achievable. Jill Alexander, The Little Flower Hut | www.thelittleflowerhut.co.uk www.maytreephotography.co.uk 84
