We both decided to write our own vows, and are so glad we did. They were only short but added a personal touch to our ceremony that we’ll remember forever. I found my Stella York wedding dress at Ava Rose Hamilton in Silsden. The staff were amazing, helping me choose a structured Matte Mikado ballgown with lace overlay on the bodice. The table centrepieces were either ruscus trees or floating candles in longstemmed glass vases, sat on wooden log slices surrounded by greenery. It was a magical sight to see when we walked into our wedding breakfast. We were both nervous on the morning of the wedding, so agreed to do a ‘first look’ at each other just before the main ceremony. It really took a bit of the pressure off. We wanted our wedding to be timeless and beautiful, but also laidback, and Hornington Manor was perfect. It even has 19 bedrooms which we were able to book out for the entire weekend. My dad made a wooden wedding arch from scratch for our ceremony, which my mum adorned with copious amounts of greenery and flowers. It was stunning! 28
