Jessica and Alex pulled out all the stops and planned their intimate micro-wedding in just 24 hours Images courtesy of Charlotte Elizabeth Photography I N T H E nick of time 37 REAL WEDDINGS I t was Alex’s ginger hair and the fact he was wearing a kilt in one of his pictures that made Jessica swipe right on Tinder. “He says I was wooed by his conversational skills on our first date,” Jessica laughs. “He says he was attracted to my smile and confidence. We had a lot in common, and he helped me start long-distance running.” The pair had decided that they wanted to get engaged, but Alex was the one to pick the moment to pop the question. “He proposed after we’d finished our first marathon in York,” Jessica tells us. “It was very romantic but neither of us could really walk or move post-marathon!” The couple planned their big day at Yorkshire Sculpture Park, but the government announcement that the country would be going into lockdown meant planning went into overdrive. They brought the wedding forward to 3 rd November, 2020, and had to prepare in just 24 hours. Jessica tells us how they did it…
