Your Yorkshire Wedding - January/February 2021 (Issue 46)

38 We’re both from different parts of the country, so it was important to us to have our wedding in the town we have made our home. We came across tipi company Boutipi at a wedding show and knew immediately it would create the feel we wanted. Pocklington Cricket Club was the perfect setting for our tipi. Our transport was a little unconventional. We hired a tuk tuk from Ey Up! Tuk Tuk. It was a great part of the day and a very popular photo opportunity for our guests! Our incredible cake was made by Rosa at Tea Time Yorkshire. It was a vegan semi-naked creation with two tiers of lemon and elderflower sponge and one of raspberry and vanilla sponge, all adorned with wildflowers. We wanted a relaxed festival-style wedding full of bright colours in pink, yellow, orange and teal. Our local florist, Mouse House, provided a gorgeous mix of colourful wild flowers, which were even more beautiful than we envisaged. I knew I wanted a flower crown, and the blooms suited this perfectly.
