Bright colours, pretty wildflowers and a festival vibe in a tipi – Nicki and Toby didn’t let a pandemic stand in the way of their dream wedding Images courtesy of Jemma King Photography Wed - fest N icki and Toby met by chance in York. “We got talking on a night out,” Nicki says. “Toby lived in London at the time, but was in York visiting his brother. I was convinced I’d met him before, and we’ve hardly been apart since!” Both being teachers, they decided to go away for half term, but unable to wait any longer, Toby proposed to Nicki on the last day of term. “I thought he might have popped the question while we were away, so I was very surprised to come home from work to a proposal,” she smiles. The pair set the date for a church ceremony at All Saints in Pocklington for 19 th August, 2020, but they couldn’t have imagined how the world was about to change.
