Your Yorkshire Wedding - November/December 2020 (Issue 45)

A TREAT FOR THE SENSES We’re having a much smaller wedding than originally planned, so we’d like to treat our guests to a present each. What do you suggest for a personal touch? At The Pretty Little Treat Co. it’s all about the personal touches and attention to detail to make someone feel special. Our bath and body treats are something truly different to offer your loved ones as favours – giving them a little bit of pampering after enjoying your big day! We have treats to suit both men and women, and you can choose a different treat for each of your guests, making it individual to them. We also offer personalisation, so the products can double up as a place setting too. How do we achieve this look? There’s something so special about a winter wedding, and it doesn’t have to be Christmassy! Winter is all about capturing the textures of the season. A perfect way to do this is by bringing foliage to the forefront. I love mixing different textures and forms such as brunia, senecio and populus to create interest and drama within a floral design. The bouquets pictured pair silver-grey foliage with a warm yet neutral toned rose for an elegant and enchanting look. At the same time, don’t shy away from using red tones – try a deep burgundy palette alongside a muted cappuccino rose for a cosy winter feel. Everyone has their own style, so don’t be afraid to show yours off. Your florist is there to capture your individuality and bring your vision to life. Creating your own marquee wedding is very rewarding but can be hard work. However, there are far more pros than cons! The first thing I would suggest is to find out what’s included within the price of the marquee and what are the add-ons. Many people believe that all venues include the necessities, but unfortunately this isn’t always the case. You need to ensure you budget for everything you need. The greatest reward with this type of wedding is that it’s a blank canvas for you to work with, allowing you to add your own style and reflect your personalities. Don’t feel you have to struggle alone. It’s a great idea to hire a wedding planner, and some venues will offer this as part of the service.
