Emma was friends with James’ younger brother and James was friends with Emma’s older brother. “When I moved to Manchester for university, we were introduced properly – and that was it,” Emma tells us. “As cliché as it sounds, we just clicked!” The couple had been to St. Tropez together a couple of times before, but it was the third time that was really special as James decided to pop the question. “We were at the top of the Citadel of Saint-Tropez Maritime History Museum,” Emma remembers. “I almost found the ring before he got down on one knee! It was a moment of complete happiness. We immediately went to a tiny backstreet restaurant and ordered champagne – it was the best day.” Back home, the loved-up couple set the date for 31 st December, 2019, with a church ceremony at the picturesque Grade II listed St Mary & St John’s Church in Hardraw. After choosing to wed on New Year’s Eve, they decided on a big house party feel, surrounded by their favourite people.
