Your Yorkshire Wedding - July/August 2020 (Issue 43)
Finishing touches for every theme The style guide V enue styling is perhaps one of the most fun parts of wedding planning. But if you’ve fallen down a Pinterest rabbit hole, you’ll know it’s hard to make all of the incredible ideas you’ve seen a reality. We’ve asked some of the region’s best stylists to hone in on three different themes and tell us how to create a full, cohesive look from them. Don’t forget – your wedding is all about you, so take these ideas and add your own personal stamp! ECO-LUXE Sustainably embracing nature. “Faux flowers and foliage can be really eco-friendly. Our faux foliage wall can be used many times with zero waste. We add a small amount of fresh or dried stems to this neutral wall to tie in with your theme.” – Hannah Smith, Elizabeth James Events www.elizabethjamesevents.co.uk | h ttp://theburtonsphotography.co.uk “Embrace the natural environment by creating a raw, understated scene. Think dried meadow florals and grasses styled with organic material such as wicker, driftwood, clays, pine cones, pebbles or shells. Add soy-wax candles to centrepieces for a warm glow without damaging the environment.” – Chloé Hought, Hart Country Weddings “Source freeze-dried petal confetti, rings made with ethical gold and pre-owned wedding outfits. Choose a hair and make-up team that use vegan and cruelty-free products. If you’re having an informal meal that requires disposable crockery, try bamboo utensils and coconut- shell bowls, which can be reused or composted. Double up place settings with favours such as handmade soap or mini soy candles.” – Chloé Hought, Hart Country Weddings “Bring the outdoors in with wooden arches, log slices and wildflowers. Re-using gin bottles, wicker baskets and glass jars to display your flowers will give a homely vibe to your day. Think local and seasonal for everything; it will have travelled less, reducing its carbon footprint, and you’ll be supporting local businesses.” – Tammy Howard, Howards Events “Why not opt for coffee beans or honey as favours for your loved ones to enjoy at home? The jars can then be reused and everything is fully recyclable with no plastic in sight.” – Tammy Howard, Howards Events Replace cut flowers with potted plants, herbs and greenery. Not only do they look beautiful but they can be given as thank you gifts. Try decorating with foraged natural products such as grasses, leaves and berries. www.howardsevents.com | www.facebook.com/colephotograph www.howardsevents.com | www.facebook.com/colephotography www.how ardsevents.com | www.face bo ok.com/colephotography 47 VENUE STYLING
