Your Yorkshire Wedding - May/June 2020 (Issue 42)
36 REAL WEDDINGS The church and venue were not far apart, so we walked through the small village in our wedding attire with our photographer, Charlotte, taking pictures. It was so surreal as there were lots of people out with their families or walking their dogs – everyone was so friendly and gave their congratulations. I wore the most beautiful blush dress with a white lace overlay. The tulle skirt wasn’t at all what I thought I wanted, but when I tried it on I knew it was the one. I surprised our guests by changing into a gold sequin number for the evening. Me, my man-of-honour and his husband all wore sparkly shoes; it was lovely to have that fun touch with my best friends. We were both incredibly relaxed on the day, even though we were expecting to be nervous. We spent the whole day laughing, and we were so lucky with the weather. Everyone got to enjoy the drinks reception outside in the sunshine. The men all looked handsome in navy suits with pink and grey ties. My bridesmaids wore soft pink dresses, which I bought before we even booked the venue!
