MIDDLETHORPE HALL & SPA 01904 641 241 | www.middlethorpe.com WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT? Middlethorpe Hall is a 17 th -century William and Mary country house standing in 20 acres of glorious gardens and parkland, yet is only two miles from York’s city centre. The romantic scented rose garden is a wonderful spot for couple’s portraits and the manicured lawn is ideal for a marquee reception when the venue is booked exclusively. The magnificent red-brick building has been restored to its former glory with exacting attention to detail. For the past eleven years, it’s been owned by the National Trust and all profits go to the charity. The hall has 29 bedrooms across the main building and courtyard, but retains the welcoming feel of a private country residence with its stone-flagged entrance hall, black marble fireplace and oak door surrounds. Beautiful Georgian art decorates the walls and gives a homely ambience. TIME TO CELEBRATE! Couples can say “I do” in the Upstairs Sitting Room or the Dovecote within the walled garden, with up to 14 witnesses. The Barlow Room (56 guests) is situated 70 yards from the hall and offers a traditional seating arrangement and aisle. The magnificent Drawing Room is available for ceremonies when the hotel is booked exclusively. After the formalities, the venue offers a range of packages for receptions. Smaller gatherings can opt for the pretty Yellow Room (14 guests). The Grill Room (56 guests) benefits from its own private sitting room, while weddings for up to 150 loved ones can opt for a marquee on the South Lawn. Nearlyweds can book exclusive-use of the house for the day and night or even longer if desired. With this, they’ll enjoy an evening party in this exceptional space and all of its 29 bedrooms.
