Your Yorkshire Wedding - Mar/Apr 2020 (Issue 41)

Adele at Sweet Charlotte Cakes created our incredible cake. It was three tiers of delicious strawberry, champagne and rose sponge covered in smooth black fondant icing and decorated with copper leaf and wildflowers. We loved that it was so us. We also had a cheese stack in the evening with local Wensleydale cheeses. For a personal touch, my talented grandma arranged our bouquets. Manor Garden Flowers did an amazing job with the floral displays at the venue. The focal piece was an 8ft flower arch in the ceremony room in beautiful shades of purple. On a previous trip to Bolton Castle we both said what an amazing place it would be to get married. Once we were engaged we thought of it straight away, and decided to attend its wedding fayre. It was perfect for – we loved that the castle was so different and full of history. We opted for a rustic theme with lots of wild flowers, foliage and a purple and copper palette. The centrepieces were vases brimming with florals alongside a blackberry-scented candle and a copper easel all sat on a log slice, which was supplied by my grandad. 40
