Your Yorkshire Wedding - Jan/Feb 2020 (Issue 40)

BOHO-CHIC Q I don’t want anything too formal for my big day. We’re having a bohemian theme so what hairstyle would suit? This is one of my favourite wedding themes with its romantic, whimsical feel; remember simplicity is the key here. Think soft twists, textured waves and plaits for creating an effortless hairstyle. I’d recommend incorporating a hairpiece or fresh flowers for the finishing touch. Gypsophila is a great bloom to choose as it adds delicate colour and would look amazing if also used throughout the venue styling. Think about the overall look rather than intricate details. Imagine long flowing hair, an elegantly floaty dress, soothing pastel colours and plenty of natural elements for a breathtaking look. Perfect make-up is always important on a wedding day – particularly when it falls on the most romantic day of the year! But don’t worry, getting a timeless look isn’t as complicated as you might think. Nothing would look more stunning on Valentine’s Day than a beautiful loose up do. This will give a soft, touchable frame to the face, while retaining a simple and elegant feel at the back. A textured bun would be my go-to. When it comes to make-up, you’ll want to look flawless. Soft neutral tones with brown hues around the eyes will make them pop and accentuate the shape. If you’re feeling daring, slick on a warm red lipstick to complete the look. Brittany Jae | Brittany Jae Makeup & Hair Extensions | brittanyjae.com RISE AND SHINE Q How do I add some glitz and sparkle to my beauty look without going over the top? To add some sparkle to your look, I’d always opt for a finely milled shimmer pigment. These have so much more dimension than regular chunky glitter, which can also be uncomfortable to wear. You’ll also find lots more shades with iridescent and two-tone options. I particularly like Peaches and Cream products. Stick to a neutral-coloured eyeshadow to create a base. Then, pat the shimmer pigment into the centre of the lid with a flat brush or fingertip and gently blend into the inner lid to avoid any harsh lines. Using a black or brown powder, line the lid to accentuate the eyes followed by layers of mascara or some wispy lashes for a soft, yet glamorous look. Remember to highlight your cheekbones with an illuminating powder. This will give a healthy glow as well as balancing out the eyes. Finish the look off with a nude glossy lip, or even a red lip to make a statement. Toni Neylon Walker | Toni Neylon Walker Makeup Artist | tonineylonmakeup.co.uk 84
