Ghost Orchid is a fashion-led boutique specialising in exclusive indie labels from around the world. Our aim is to support brides in a fun, laid-back way to explore their own style and find a killer outfit that reflects their personality. What designers will brides find in store? Bridal designs are by Chosen by One Day, Alexandra Grecco, Daughters of Simone, & For Love and Chantel Lauren. Bridesmaids are from Rewritten, while accessories are by a.b. Ellie, Olivia the Wolf and New Phrenology. What designer, past or present, would you choose to design your own wedding dress? In reality, I’d have a dress from each one of our designers. In a dream world, I’d pick Alexander McQueen for his powerful, strong designs, which allowed the women wearing them to still feel feminine and sexy. What’s been the highlight of running your business? It’s so difficult to pin down just one, but when we moved to our new premises on Humber Street I experienced a pinch-me moment when I reflected on how far we’d come. We offer a welcoming and individual experience for the modern bride with a couture approach to design. As all our dresses are created in-house by myself and the team, the options are limitless. This means you can have something that fits both you and your wedding vision perfectly. What designers will brides find in store? We’re an independent boutique and all our designs are made here, whether that’s creating a style from our try-on collections in the boutique, or designing something from scratch with pencil and paper. We work with each bride to find to find the right style for them. What designer, past or present, would you choose to design your own wedding dress? I have a life-long love for Coco Chanel and the way she revolutionised fashion for women. Her poise, elegance and work have inspired me throughout my life and career. What’s been the highlight of running your business? Working with my couture brides and the humbling messages I receive after the wedding are always a highlight. I started designing with a view to making women feel empowered on their wedding day, and be the perfect version of themselves.
