The intimate temple is a one-of-a-kind space overlooking the lake or the traditional St Mary’s Church (250 guests) is found in the grounds. Newlyweds can have a fabulous marquee and enjoy dancing in the gardens ’til late surrounded by views of the lake, woodland and Yorkshire Wolds. Situated in the Dales, this impressive Medieval castle overlooks the Wensleydale Hills. Found in beautiful gardens, there are plenty of picture-perfect spots including a maze and flower arches. There’s real wow factor as guests enter through the portcullis into the cobbled courtyard and the view from the battlements is truly breathtaking. Inside, the castle has been protected to show how it would have looked when it was a luxurious Medieval home, complete with working fireplaces and spiral staircases. Guests will also love seeing the armoury and dungeon. Time to celebrate! There are many areas to explore and rooms to suit up to 120 day guests and 200 evening guests. The Old Kitchen (up to 70 guests) is a popular space for smaller weddings or reception drinks with its beams and working fireplaces. Once Mary Queen of Scots’ day room, the light and airy Solar (120 guests) is where most ceremonies are held. The Great Chamber can seat up to 120 guests for a meal, and is a brilliant party space for 200 friends and family in the evening.
