Crathorne Hall is a stunning stately home located close to Yarm on the edge of the Yorkshire Moors, and is surrounded by 15 acres of peaceful woodland overlooking the Leven valley. The estate’s sweeping driveway leads to this idyllic traditional building, which dates back to 1906. Its tower bells and exquisite stonemasonry showcases its grandeur, and creates an enchanting spot for visitors to marvel at the stunning views. The interior has been sympathetically restored with a mix of classic and contemporary furnishings and boasts high ceilings, elegant gilt chandeliers, intricate cornicing and marble fireplaces. Hardcastle Crags is a National Trust property known for its vast woodland and beautiful surroundings. At the centre is Gibson Mill, which is a three-storey cotton mill with huge windows looking over a cobbled courtyard, historic cottages, an ice cream parlour and a millpond. Arriving down a woodland track, the setting changes from season to season making it special all year round. The building’s industrial minimalism, large windows, original features and neutral walls make it a great blank canvas for couples to create their dream day. Time to celebrate! The venue is licensed for weddings on the first floor of the mill (90 guests). Couples can also choose to have a celebrant-led ceremony in the woodland. Following this, the mill plays host to receptions for up to 90 loved ones. Totally flexible and exclusive, the space can be configured to the couple’s specifications.
