Your Yorkshire Wedding - Sep/Oct 2019 (Issue 38)

The mother-of-the-groom was brilliant, creating lots of little touches like the table plan, place names and napkin rings. On the tables there were lilac and silver chocolates alongside small lilac hearts with our names and wedding date on. Our cake was embellished with handmade sugar flowers and butterflies to match the theme. It was three delicious tiers of lemon and blackcurrant, chocolate fudge and liquorice. The venue was so pretty we didn’t need lots of styling. We chose a lilac palette with a butterfly motif to run throughout. This was reflected in our centrepieces, which were white lanterns decorated with little butterflies. We chose The Old Barn at Esholt for our special day. We wanted a small, intimate wedding and its open fires, rustic vibe and homely feel was ideal. The converted barns set the scene perfectly and the staff were so welcoming. 36
