Your Yorkshire Wedding - Mar/Apr 2019 (Issue 35)

The Broughton Hall Estate is such a beautiful place, set in the picturesque Yorkshire countryside with a lovely church in the grounds. For the reception, Eden gave us the freedom to have the exact wedding we wanted without compromising on anything. It was important to us that we could celebrate all weekend and party until the early hours. We had a romantic blush peach and gold palette, which ran throughout our flowers and styling. Our floral arrangements included peonies, David Austin roses, hydrangeas and lily of the valley. We also incorporated dahlias, as they’re the flower of San Francisco. I own a stationery company called Silk Beau so I made a lot of the items myself including our invitations, fun scratchcard favours, the hand-drawn mirror table plan and place names. The tables were named after places in San Francisco. The long table in the centre of the marquee was called Alcatraz and it’s where we sat our rowdy friends! We liked the idea of having a backdrop for our loved ones to take photos against, so we had a blush-coloured flower wall by Creative Cover Hire at the entrance to the venue. We put our names over this, made in gold acrylic by Here’s to Us. We also hired in gold-beaded charger plates and gold-rimmed glasses for an elegant feel. The men looked dashing in dark navy suits and peach ties, which went beautifully with the bridesmaids’ dresses. My best girls’ gowns were the first thing I bought. I knew the exact colour I wanted them to wear, so when I saw the styles in Ralph Lauren I had to buy them! 44
