The cake was navy blue and hand-painted with gold streaks. This was placed on a slate and copper stand and surrounded by a floral hoop. For the table names, we used one of Robbie’s navy hats and purchased some more online and everyone ended up wearing them! I’m a venue stylist, so I created our table plan, place names and menus. I used the same font throughout our stationery to create a cohesive look. Robbie and I gave our guests cupcakes and charity wristbands for The Lily Foundation as favours. Robbie has recently been diagnosed with a mitochondrial disease called MELAS and The Lily Foundation very kindly provided a grant as a contribution to our wedding breakfast. Brandon Hall Hotel and Spa has beautiful grounds and separate rooms for the ceremony and reception. This was very important to me, as I didn’t want our guests to be shuffled out of the rooms during the turn-arounds. 30
