The ceremony stood out for Paul. He said it was potentially the most nerve-racking moment of the day, but any worry evaporated as soon as he saw me walk down the aisle. We wanted our ceremony to be natural, personal and with warmth, emotion and humour. Shelley from SJW Celebrant did such a brilliant job to create a ceremony that was everything we asked for. We wrote our own vows which have become really special to us. Surprisingly on the day, I felt very relaxed. I thought I would be a nervous wreck after spending months wondering how I would walk down the aisle in front of so many people. In the end, after all the planning and preparation, I lived in the moment and took it all in my stride and I would do it all over again. The bridesmaids opted for different dresses from David’s Bridal in the same colour and fabric. I wanted all my maids to feel their best, so it was important to me that they chose the design they felt most confident in. I wore a beautiful Morilee dress from TDR Bridal Birmingham. It was the first gown I tried on at a wedding show, and then by chance at TDR, the stylist bought it out as an option, so we felt it was meant to be. I loved the style as it was a racer neck and fit-and-flare. My nan loved all the lace detailing and the train. I styled it with clustered crystal earrings and dried white flower hairpins with pearl detailing. Our guests were lively and in high spirits; we had great conversations, lots of laughter and good food and drink. Paul and the groomsmen chose the same slim-fit tuxedo design from Dancers, an outfitter based in Halesowen. The suit had a very subtle pattern running through it, and they also wore black bow ties, white pocket squares and black dress shoes. REAL WEDDINGS 35
