Your Surrey Wedding- October/November 2020 (Issue 85)
The service was beautiful, and the church choir really added to it. Hearing everyone belt out the first hymn when I got to the end of the aisle was particularly special. I expected to feel nervous, but we ended up having a fun day, and the nerves never seemed to arrive. Ben was so excited that he didn’t sleep for two weeks before the wedding! I knew I wanted the bridesmaids to wear blue, but I was also conscious that I wanted to make everyone happy. I chose a few different dresses, and luckily everyone liked at least one of them, so they chose their favourites and looked great on the day. I wore an Essence of Australia dress from Georgina Scott Bridal. It was originally a strapless gown, but the boutique added straps for me, and I accessorised with a long silk veil. Ben and the groomsmen opted for suits from Blooms Menswear. They wore the same grey waistcoats, but Ben chose a different tie and pocket square to help him stand out. In the evening, we hired a band we’d seen at a wedding a few years ago called FairPlay. The dancefloor was full all night, and they played a great mix of songs. REAL WEDDINGS 39
