Your Surrey Wedding- June/July 2020 (Issue 83)
88 A touch of luxury The metallic trend is here to stay, and whether you choose to include subtle hints into your make-up or go all out, it’s sure to look amazing. If you opt for a strong hue on your eyelids, wear a natural or nude lip. Alternatively, if you want a striking gold lip, then keep your eyes soft otherwise it may be overpowering. Metallic shades work best in the crease line and if done correctly, can be very elegant. Before applying any products always use a cream or primer to ensure it stays in place throughout the day. Blend your eyeshadow and ensure you add liner and lashes to make your eyes pop. Highlighter is a great way of adding definition to your features but apply it lightly to avoid it looking heavy or futuristic. There are lots of variations available, a rose gold palette can be paired with silver and if you choose copper mix it with bronze. ALL THAT GLITTERS IS GOLD Emilie Crease from May & Grace Bridal Boutique tells us how you can include this on-trend colour into your gown. Emilie says: Incorporating on-trend shades into your wedding can be a great way of adding a little fun to your outfit. Gold is the perfect hue for the job. It can add warmth to your look and works effortlessly with ivory, most florals and green foliage. Coloured wedding dresses are big news this season and are no longer reserved for the alternative bride. These gowns are a contemporary statement for fashionable women. Pale golds and pastel pinks are set to dominate 2020 as a variety of blush and soft-hued dresses have been making an appearance over the past few seasons. The addition of gold embroidery on lace and subtle beads will add texture and depth to your design. Our favourite way of incorporating it into your look is through accessories. You can have a lot of fun here, with stylish shoes, and hair vines in mixed metals. Make sure you’re consistent with your colour choice and all of your jewellery matches. A bold move would be the addition of drop earrings, but if you opt for this, keep your neck clear as not to add too much fuss. Golds work best with warmer tones of champagne and nude, think autumn and winter weddings with sparkling fairylights, flickering candles and you’re off to a stylish start!
