Your Surrey Wedding- June/July 2020 (Issue 83)
We love wildlife and have done lots of volunteering with animals, so we wanted to incorporate them into our big day. We named each table after an animal that we’d encountered on our travels and included small figurines on each table. I had a vision of what I wanted the stationery to look like, and it turned out better than I ever could have imagined. For our favours, we gave our guests cookies with our names on that Richard’s mum brought back from the Czech Republic. Not only is De Vere Horsley Estate a beautiful property but it’s also where we met, so we have some wonderful memories there. We loved the fact that everything was in one place, which meant we didn’t have to spend the day travelling. I’m a girly girl, so incorporating pink into our décor was a must. I didn’t want it to be overpowering, so we opted for soft dusky rose tones that looked perfect. Our cake was an animal-theme with a different scene on each tier from Stable Cottage Cakes. The flowers were a mixture of roses and gypsophila from Blakes of Bookham. The centrepieces framed the aisle and were moved into the dining room before the wedding breakfast. The blooms looked amazing, and the garland on the bannister was particularly impressive. 40
