They accessorised with silver open-toed sandals, pearl necklaces and earrings.” TIME TO CELEBRATE “We booked a DJ to perform in the evening,” Kim reveals. “He played an extensive playlist and incorporated requests from our friends and family.” The couple also hired a photo booth. “This was a big hit with our guests,” says the bride. “It included props and had a video function. Our loved ones could take home their photographs, and some were added to a special keepsake book.” MEMORABLE MOMENTS “We felt a sense of relief on the morning of the wedding,” explains Kim. “After months of planning the big day was finally here. As we got married in December, we were worried about the prospect of waking up with a cold but we both felt great. Having lived together for a while, we were excited to finally make things official and celebrate with our nearest and dearest.” The couple adored the speeches. “Everyone had lots of fun,” shares the bride. “We would like to thank, Dan, the best man for his speech. It left us in tears and fits of laughter.” The newlyweds also hired The Modern Toastmaster. “Iain Pompei was amazing,” adds Kim. “Prior to the wedding, we weren’t sure what a toastmaster did or whether it was worthwhile hiring one. After a bit of research, we took a leap of faith and decided to go ahead and arrange a meeting with Iain. It was one of the best things we did. He spent hours with us before the wedding running through the order of events and making countless helpful suggestions. On the day itself, Iain told us exactly where we needed to be. He was so much fun and our nuptials wouldn’t have been the same without him.” HONEYMOON “We went to the Maldives for a week for our honeymoon,” shares the bride. “We flew via Colombo with SriLankan Airlines. I made all the arrangements with the help of some very generous donations from our wedding guests. We opted for a water villa with a private pool. It was huge and decorated to a superb standard. We spent our time eating fine food, swimming, snorkelling and enjoying paradise. It was a holiday of a lifetime.”
