Meet some talented local suppliers, and be inspired by the latest 2025 trends DREAM DÉCOR MIMI AND LU Maria Goonella says, “Mimi and Lu specialise in event styling, décor and coordination working with clients on bespoke ideas and designs. Running for more than six years, with team members who have decades of experience between them, we help our clients bring their dreams to life and take the stress away so they can relish the gorgeousness of their dreams on their special day. Top tip: Have all of your vendors in communication with each other and sharing images of the colour shades they’re using and the vibe they’ve interpreted. This way the vendors can all be on the same page and ensure their separate elements complement each other and your vision. Top trends: A trend I’ve been seeing online is the creative use of sumptuous layered fabrics, draping on tables, to zone out spaces, and used as a backdrop wall. Non-traditional cake ideas are also everywhere, the one that comes to mind is the long, rectangular table runner-style cake. A lot of fresh fruit and vegetables are being used as décor now for tables and backdrops. Clients are getting more creative with their weddings and thinking outside the box and coming up with ideas that are personal to them. This is a bespoke Aperol Spritz bar backdrop that we made using real oranges tied into a grass wall, with a bespoke neon sign – this was in Battersea Park, London. Champagne towers seem to be everywhere online, especially with bows or ribbons around the stems. Not just this year, but balloons are becoming a bigger part of weddings, especially for the reception. We try to use biodegradable, natural latex as much as possible. Done right they can be really striking. We dressed this unique bar shelving with natural foliage and sprigs of fresh baby’s breath for decoration. Bows! You can’t move without seeing a bow on a candlestick, dinner plate and anywhere else they can go at weddings. Usually in a satin or velvet. www.mimiandlu.co.uk www.instagram.com/mimiandlu.co.uk @jsbco for Unsplash 55 VENUE STYLING
