Also, both our mum’s did readings during the ceremony and Sam’s nephew was the ring bearer. They all did a great job and made the ceremony feel personalised! All the speeches were excellent and that was a real highlight! The registrars were great and made everything super easy; when we were up there we were mainly looking at each other so it didn’t feel too intimidating! It was great to look out and see our family and friends looking so happy for us. I was a bit nervous about being the centre of attention during the ‘walking down the aisle’ moment and during the ceremony, but this turned out to be one of the highlights for me! My uncle and his partner had trouble getting a taxi so embarked on quite a long countryside walk from their hotel to the venue. The registrars spotted some well-dressed people on the way and ended up kindly giving them a lift to the wedding! For the honeymoon, we went on a safari in Kenya and then to Mauritius afterwards – a great mix of adventure and relaxing. We booked with TrailFinders and they made everything super easy; it was great to have the itinerary sorted so we had one less thing to plan ourselves! 34
