I’d like something with a bit of shimmer – maybe using metallic shades? What can you suggest? Firstly congratulations! How exciting! I love using shimmers and metallic eyeshadows on brides as it really helps to brighten and open up the eyes. A loose pigment is good to create more of a shimmer/glittery look. However, if you’re wanting more of a metallic/reflective effect on the eyes, then a pressed pigment is perfect to achieve this. Firstly I’d use my brushes to apply the colour/pigment and see how strong it comes out, I’d then get you to have a little look and, if you’d like it more intense, I’d simply use my finger so I’m able to get a little bit more pressure with the product and it’ll give off a more metallic finish. Is there anything I can do in the run-up to the wedding to help; and will my makeup artist be able to cover these! There are a number of products you can use to reduce the appearance of sun freckles, creams and serums like these are usually great for brightening your skin too. That said, I tend to discourage changes to your skincare routine too close to your wedding day. Plus your makeup artist should be able to cover even the darkest of areas with the right concealers and application. If you’re still concerned, most makeup artists do preview sessions so you can try out having your makeup done before your big day. This even gives you the chance to see how well the makeup lasts, and provides the opportunity to give feedback to your artist so they can make any necessary changes to the application for your special day.
