Nicola tells us, “In 2021, the mobile bar had been lovingly converted, painted in Farrow and Ball’s satin slipper cream shade and when I saw it up for sale, after years of searching for one, I fell in love with it and knew the time was right to start my own business. The Fabulous Filly is based on the West Sussex and Surrey border serving London and the south but it can travel further afield for special occasions in beautiful locations.” With a background in working in weddings, promotions and marketing, owning and running The Fabulous Filly means Nicola can blend her hospitality, event planning and marketing skills with her passion for cocktails, upcycling Art Deco furniture and collection of vintage glassware. “I also love growing the edible flowers, fruit and herbs to complement the drinks in a garnish plot in my garden,” she says. Nicola’s vision is for The Fabulous Filly, currently being revamped with a cascading mix of roses and peonies, to serve signature cocktails and other beverages in pretty vintage glassware at weddings and events. She says, “The perfect addition to any event, especially weddings small and large, we can tailor our drinks packages to suit each celebration. There’ll be the popular gin and tonic and prosecco on the menu and, along with the couple, we can create a bespoke drinks menu for their wedding, from signature cocktails to a full bar, champagne towers, barista-style speciality coffee, tea and more.
