For the ceremony, we had a pampas grass hoop as a backdrop, and then we utilised it for the table plan by adding in a smaller hoop. We had an ice cream cart for the drinks reception, lots of garden games, chill-out areas, sweetie station and so on. The tables had demi johns with pampas grass in them, which we removed before the picnic was served. Sean wore a tux with a white jacket − simple and classic. In the evening he changed his white jacket to black before the first dance. We love a date day to the countryside with a picnic, so what better way to reflect us than a quintessential British picnic for our wedding catering? Our big-day bake was navy blue and white with gold leaf detail. Sean arrived in my convertible cream Beetle and we both left in it too! The best man’s speech was truly wonderful, both emotional and witty. We gave guests scratchcards − we wanted everyone to be lucky in love. 49 REAL WEDDINGS
