Lauren and Rob met at a football match 13 years ago. “Rob’s a semi-professional football player and has been a goalkeeper most of his life. I guess you could say Rob was tall, dark (he had hair at the time) and handsome!” shares Lauren. After embarking on a happy and long-lasting relationship, Rob proposed in Ibiza while they were on holiday in June 2019. “He popped the question while we were watching a sunset – which I love!” The big date was set 5th August 2023 with Reigate Hill Golf Club providing the perfect backdrop. Here, we find out more about their day… SETTING THE SCENE It’s always hard whittling down your dream wedding venue, but for Lauren and Robert the main attraction for Reigate Hill Golf Club was the outside ceremony area and the long walk down the aisle. “Although sadly, we had to move the ceremony inside the day before due to the weather,” shares Lauren. “We had the first storm of the year and the storm even got given a name it was so bad! My auntie Ann helped me dress the inside ceremony area and I can quite honestly say, without her, it would not have looked as beautiful as it did.” All the finishing touches came together in a colour scheme of ivory and navy with silver accents. The favours were small boxes filled with chocolates while the place settings were ivory hearts adorned with a blue diamanté. The table plan and table names (which were Disney songs), were from Cherished Cards and these also followed the palette of ivory and navy complete with heart crystals. For centrepieces, the couple opted for blossom trees from Glam Grazing (wrapped in ivory ribbon and draped with diamantés by Lauren’s aunt) while artificial flowers were used to dress the top table. Real flowers were used in the bridal bouquet, bridesmaids’ bouquets, and bridal party buttonholes from Flowers by Liz and coordinated with the colour scheme. The venue was also adorned with draping from the Glam Grazing team. “This was going to be used on the outside arches during the ceremony, but the team kindly added these to the doorframe inside to dress the room more.” Guests could also enjoy a sweet cart and doughnut wall (provided by the venue but filled by the couple). “We made a crisp wall, mainly for the children but the adults enjoyed these too!” adds Lauren. LOOKING THE PART Lauren’s wedding dress was from Brides Visited in Ashtead. “My sister bought her wedding dress there more than 10 years ago and I knew the staff and service is great,” shares Lauren. “I went in looking for a completely different style to the one I chose, but after trying on many dresses, the corset, princess-style suited me best and the lace detail on the dress was stunning.” Rob looked dapper in a light grey, three-piece suit from Moss, which was also the colour and style worn by the groomsmen. The bridesmaids complemented the rest of the bridal party in long, navy-blue chiffon dresses from Monsoon with lace detail at the top to match the bride’s. TIME TO CELEBRATE For the all-important ceremony, guests were entertained by a singer, Lousie Harrington, who also performed during the drinks reception. Later in the evening, the couple opted for a DJ from Expert Entertainment, as part of the venue’s wedding package. REAL WEDDINGS 41
