I loved all our suppliers, but our hair and make-up team, The Bridal Dream Team, definitely calmed me down in the morning while helping me to look and feel fantastic throughout the whole day. My hair and make-up didn’t budge! Also, thank you to the seamstress for sewing into my dress a blue heart made of my dad’s shirt. It made me feel like he was with me on my big day, just as I knew he’d have wanted to be. We were both a lot more nervous than we’d anticipated in the morning. After so much rearranging, I think we just wanted it all to run smoothly. Once the ceremony was over though, we relaxed and tried to follow everyone’s advice of taking in as much as possible. The day really did fly by. Our flowers were absolutely beautiful. We went for touches of blue with lots of orchids as a nod to Thailand. I chose a large cascading bridal bouquet, which I loved. I chose a Martina Liana dress. I loved its soft silk and lace. At the time the wedding was still planned for Thailand so I didn’t want anything too heavy or structured. Luckily the weather on the day was beautiful, even though we didn’t make it to Asia. I received lots of compliments and it was super-easy to dance in. We decided to go for candles for our wedding favours and personalised them with a bit of rope and a ship’s wheel to bring in the nautical theme, along with our names and the date. The line ‘plans change, hearts don’t’ was a nod to our planning journey. Our table plan matched the place names, invitations and thank you cards. We went for a cornflower blue watercolour design to keep the beach theme going. We chose a simple design as we don’t like too much fuss. 40
