They started out as friends, but before long love started to blossom. “We first knew there was something there when collecting money for the charity on a fundraising day,” Jade remembers. So, as their friends often say, it was an orange boat that brought them together. After stopping for a hot chocolate while on their regular family walk with their little boy Noah, Dan asked for a family selfie. As Jade was about to snap the pic, he popped the engagement ring into the back of the shot and when she noticed it, he asked her to marry him. It had been a long-running joke between the pair that Dan would play golf on the morning of their wedding at Cottesmore Hotel Golf & Country Club, since that was his favourite course. So, it was the first place to spring to mind when they started looking at venues and Jade fell in love with the ceremony lawn straight away. Sadly though, since it had fallen victim to fire in 2018, the rest of the hotel was a building site, but from seeing artist’s impressions of its new look, they knew Cottesmore would be perfect.
