Your Sussex Wedding - August/September 2020 (Issue 86)

Saying our vows was the most memorable part of the day for me. You have a picture in your mind of how it’s going to be, and it really is an incredible moment. I didn’t think I’d get emotional but a few tears did take over. An old-fashioned London bus took our guests from the cathedral to the reception venue. Our florist was a dear friend who we both know from our Hilton days. For centrepieces, we used lovely white bird cages filled with peach and coral flowers, with plenty of foliage. Our favours were miniature bottles of Blooms Gin - the first bottle of gin Ben brought me, as I’d tried it on one of our date nights, and loved it. At the cathedral we had two main floral displays of white lilies and foliage, with hand tied gypsophila attached to each pew end. The tables were named after our favourite restaurants, ones that meant a lot to us. So, we printed each logo onto A5 ivory card and displayed in the centre of each one. My sister handwrote all of our place names, as one of her maid-of-honour duties! She has lovely writing and offered her services. REAL WEDDINGS 39 
