Your Sussex Wedding - June/July 2020 (Issue 85)
Live band The Sonics kept everyone entertained and were fantastic. The lead vocals were incredible and the dancefloor was always heaving. They really stole the show for me. We’ve had so many people ask us about them, they were so impressed. Adam’s two brothers were his best men and their speech was particularly hilarious. We weren’t expecting a projector showing opening credits for our own Star Wars- style story. Our talented friend, Alice, made our cake. It was two- tiered, one chocolate sponge, one Victoria sponge, iced ivory and wrapped in yellow ribbon. The topper was made by Clare’s Cake Boutique and was a mini-iced Adam and Anneka in our wedding attire. We went to Paphos on honeymoon a couple of days after the wedding. We wanted some autumn sun with a short flight, and it was a relaxing way to spend our first week as newlyweds. My friend, Claire, made the place names and table plan with a world map in the background as we both work in the travel industry. For the table names she used names of countries we’ve travelled to together featuring an anecdote from each trip. My bouquet was ivory, with accents of pale blue and yellow. The bridesmaids had a smaller variation of ivory and blue. We had one large, long and low-hanging flower arrangement, which we used to decorate the table where we signed the register, and then moved it to the top table. REAL WEDDINGS 47
