Suzanne and Duncan styled their day as a quintessential British afternoon tea party with chintz galore Images courtesy of N Davies Photography W hen Suzanne and Duncan went on a blind date, they thought they were just meeting for a quick afternoon drink, but three hours later, they were still chatting and laughing. “We felt like we’d known each other for years after only a couple of dates, and just knew it was right,” Suzanne says. Eight months after the pair’s first date, Duncan took Suzanne away on a surprise birthday weekend to Venice. On the last day he proposed in a little café next to the Rialto Bridge. Suzanne remembers, “I was so surprised that I knocked the bowl of sugar off the table!” After she said “yes,” they headed to a jeweller on the bridge, where they picked out an engagement ring. We’ll let you in to a little secret: Duncan had actually planned to propose at Christmas but they’d had such an amazing weekend, he decided to pop the question there and then!
