Your Sussex Wedding - October/November 2019 (Issue 81)

 I t’s so easy to visualise your day when you’ve seen a venue in the sunshine,” shoot coordinator Helen Pomery of Empirical Events says. “But it takes more imagination when the day is gloomy or when dusk is falling.” Agreed. Autumn and winter weddings are growing in popularity, but they do tend to need a couple with a shared passion for the season. When flowers aren’t in bloom and trees are bare, it might take more effort to find hidden beauty. This team of enthusiastic wedding suppliers made it their mission to go off the beaten track at The Ravenswood to find the angles you wouldn’t usually see that showcase the natural beauty of the colder months. So it was on with the wellies and into the woods! I share the team’s love for all things autumn and was thus instantly drawn to this shoot when it landed on my desk. What stood out for me were the quiet moments between the couple. Your wedding is sure to be one wonderful whirlwind of a day, but it’s so important to take time – just the two of you – to take in everything and reflect on the commitment you’ve made. If your venue provides the wealth of stunning outdoor space like The Ravenswood does, go out and enjoy it! Your wedding day is all about you; be sure to steal some precious moments together to reflect Images courtesy of John Scofield Photography Alone time “ 71 REGIONAL SHOOT
