Your Sussex Wedding - October/November 2019 (Issue 81)

My dress, Stella York design 6679 , was from Fross Wedding Collections in Uckfield. I’d already dismissed it when I saw it on the hanger, but by mum and bridesmaids persuaded me to try it on. As soon as I opened my eyes, I was in love. I cried when I had to take it off! Dan wore a Ted Baker suit and a blush tie, as did the fathers and groomsmen, but the groom accessorised with rose buttonhole so that he stood out. I had four bridesmaids together with our two-year-old daughter, who was a flowergirl. My two best friends wore blush pleated full-length dresses, and my two nieces wore a dress of a similar hue but with sparkly Bardot tops. I was lucky enough to find ESL Marquees at a wedding fair. The clear marquee made you feel as though you were in the great outdoors but with all the protection of being undercover. We held our ceremony here, and the weather was beautiful so we could open up the sides, allowing everyone to take in the view. I wrote the majority of the ceremony, and it was conducted by one of Dan’s best friends, Ed. Our daughter also wanted to get in on the action, so she joined us for the vows. I walked up the aisle to A Thousand Years by The Piano Brothers, and we exited to C razy Little Thing Called Love by Queen. 60
