Your Sussex Wedding - October/November 2019 (Issue 81)

Our centrepieces were made up of woodland and autumn flowers with craft beer bottles. We made the place names with pine cones. Our table plan and names were designed with a Fantastic Mr. Fox theme in mind, a tribute to our favourite film. We used woodland animals’ Latin names and quotes from Wes Anderson’s movie adaptation of the classic Roald Dahl novel. We chose mink dresses for the bridesmaids with lace backs to complement the lace on my bridal gown. Craig was dressed in a tweed suit, and we wanted him to stand out from the groomsmen, so we chose contrasting navy three-piece ensembles for them, paired with tweed waistcoats to complement the groom. I bought my dress in 2015 – before we had decided on the venue or even a date! It was not what I originally had in mind, but when I tried it on with the lace jacket, it felt so comfortable and just right. It was in the sale and two sizes too big, so when it came to alterations, poor Margaret at the shop had her work cut out but did a fantastic job. 54
