Your Sussex Wedding - October/November 2019 (Issue 81)

The floral arrangements comprised white roses – as I’m a Yorkshire girl – eucalyptus, blue hydrangea and gypsophila. For wedding favours, we purchased charity pin badges from the Motor Neurone Disease Association. We decided to keep the cake simple, so we asked a friend to make us a lemon sponge covered with blue icing. My mum made the cake stand in an Art Deco style with lots of draped pearls. Luke was dressed in a flannel glen check three-piece suit in dove grey, with a double-breasted waistcoat and pale blue shirt. He accessorised with a royal blue silk tie, antique gold pocket square and dark brown shoes. Both his and his groomsmen’s suits were designed and made by Luke Morgan at Gresham Blake, Brighton. The bridesmaids all wore dresses in the same colour and fabric but all in different styles. We’d always wanted to have a live band at our wedding and chose Soul Brother, a six-piece all-male band that performed the classics, as well as modern hits in their own style. They were fantastic! Luke says his favourite moment was when the band was in full swing and everyone was on the dancefloor. As he says, a busy dancefloor is a sign of a good wedding! REAL WEDDINGS 49
