Your Sussex Wedding - October/November 2019 (Issue 81)
The seafront location, the size and the character attracted us to Worthing Dome. Luke grew up in Worthing and used to go to the cinema there a lot. I was a bag of nerves just before the ceremony, but as soon as I saw Luke and all my friends, I instantly became calmer. I think I underestimated how emotional the day would be, and I did get a bit teary later on. My dress was a vintage style by True Bride. Since it was so detailed, I kept the accessories simple, pairing it with a plain veil and beaded hairpiece. We hired a gorgeous blue vintage convertible VW Beetle, which was a perfect match for our palette. I made the table plan with an Art Deco border to complement the setting. The centrepieces consisted of gold candelabra topped with flowers matching my bouquet, draped in pearls and set upon large mirrored plates. The most memorable moment of the day, for me, was seeing Luke’s face as I walked down the aisle. The speeches will also stick in my mind, as my dad did a great job of embarrassing me with his – as dads always should! 48
