Your Sussex Wedding - Jun/Jul 2019 (Issue 79)
Boyce isn’t fussy when it comes to designer clothes, so we went to Next. He chose a navy three-piece suit and tie. Selden Barns had it all for us: a little barn for the ceremony, an open all-in-one reception area and we both adored the surrounding grounds. I wore a vintage-style beaded dress. It was figure- hugging with a low back and train. I originally saw the dress in a wedding magazine and cut it out to stick into my ideas book. Eventually I found it, and I fell in love as soon as I tried it on. The budget had to grow a little but, but it was worthwhile! My bridesmaids were dressed in blue maxi dresses with diamanté-encrusted straps. E loise met Ryan “Boyce” O’Sullivan through her older sister, who knew him through school and college. She’d take Eloise to watch his band play, “so I was a groupie from a young age,” says the bride. In fact, she still enjoys going along to see him in the same band but doesn’t need to be dragged along by big sis anymore! The couple didn’t know each other well as kids, so it wasn’t until after university when Eloise had moved back home that they began to grow close. She says, “I’ve always been attracted to his kindness, positivity and hilarious sense of humour.” The pair had been together for five-and-a-half years when Boyce popped the question following a Christmas break in Barcelona. Eloise told us, “He’d been ill for most of the trip, so I was past guessing if he would get down on one knee, when on the final night, he actually did… Magic!” Here the bride shares more happy memories of their special day... The groomsmen all wore navy suits with beige waistcoats, floral ties and pocket squares. 52
