How do I create this without looking shiny? Lucy says: To create fresh, glowing skin without the shine, I always begin with thorough skin prep. Begin with a light cleanse and gentle exfoliation using Dermalogica’s Daily Microfoliant that sloughs off any dead skin cells to reveal smooth polished skin. Once cleansed and polished, assessing the areas of your skin that may be prone to oiliness allows you to control those areas and add radiance so that they’ll glow. I can’t be without Kat Burki Complete B Illume Brightening Serum in my kit. This wonder product not only hydrates and absorbs quickly, but it also leaves skin looking luminous, creating a brighter, more even, skin tone. Next, use MAC Cosmetics Strobe Cream on the upper parts of the cheekbones and any areas that catch the light – great for those dramatic black and white shots. Your wedding day make-up will need to be set in place with powder since it’s working super hard to stand the test of time, and ensuring the skin underneath is radiant will give you confidence. It’s best to avoid heavy highlighters to maintain a natural finish, but if you can’t let go, opt for cream textures that sit more naturally on the skin. Try MAC Cosmetics Cream Colour Base in Shell or Hush and apply using a flat synthetic brush to add high points for added glow. CLASSIC ELEGANCE I’m tying the knot at a fabulous stately home venue. What style of dress should I be looking for to complement the surroundings? Lou says: I love tradition, so I would embrace the simplicity and elegance of ivory satin in a ballgown or plain fitted silhouette. This Veromia (MC1338) in satin encapsulates timeless bridal elegance. A V-neck ballgown with embellished belt and straps, it perfectly combines a modern illusion back with a cathedral-length train. Alternatively, you may want to consider the plain fitted silhouette of this stunning Mark Lesley (7267) fishtail gown with cathedral-length train and gorgeous sweetheart neckline. It’s sure to get heads turning, and the beautifully embellished belt adds a touch of sparkle. I love the covered buttons, which extend to the end of the train, bringing an element of glamour. Both of these gowns, paired with a single-tier full- length cathedral veil, create two contrasting looks, each standing the test of time. ALL GOOD THINGS… I’m only 5’1” and am worried I’m going to look swamped in a wedding gown! What can you suggest, perhaps to add the illusion of height? Debbie says: The most important aspect of choosing the right dress is that it suits your body shape and proportions, irrespective of your height. A fishtail or a mermaid-style won’t suit a pear shape, yet they would an hourglass figure. Wearing higher heels could help, but I would always recommend wearing shoes that you feel comfortable in, as it’ll be a long day. Try a selection of styles to see what makes you feel FAB-U-LOUS!  That’s all that matters. I’ve been dressing brides for more than 15 years and love helping them to find the dress and making that process easy.  veromia.co.uk Fashion and beauty Q&A Local experts offer advice on how to look your big-day best cinnamonavenue.com marklesley.co.uk
