106 NATURAL GLAM Hair and make-up by Alison J Smith, bridalbeauty.co.uk “This look is great for a bride who wants unfussy hair that will last all day and natural make-up with a touch of added glamour.” – Alison Alison says: “I love fresh, naturally radiant skin for my brides, which here was achieved using Airbase airbrush-applied foundation and Chanel Vitalumière. Laura Mercier bronzer and highlighter gave just enough glow, with a pop of peachy pink Bobbi Brown blusher on the cheeks. I went for a slightly smoky eye using MAC Basic B*tch Palette and Coffee Eye Pencil. MAC Cremesheen Glass in Deelight gave the lips a peachy pink glaze.”  CROWNING GLORY: “When a bride opts to wear her hair down, it’s important that it doesn’t hide the neckline or detract from the dress’ features but, in this case, worked perfectly with the beautiful Enzoani strapless gown. I curled the hair using BaByliss Pro 24mm ceramic tongs, adding layers of clip-in hair extensions as I went. A little height was teased into the top of the hair before softly twisting a few sections back and pinning behind the crown. A crystal- and pearl-encrusted comb and hair pins added the finishing touches.” sarahleggephotography.co.uk BOHO CHIC Hair and make-up by Emma Olliff, emmaolliff.com “A beautiful unstructured look that almost gives the appearance of being make-up free while still looking glam, with hair that could have been thrown together in a couple of minutes. Think just-picked-from-the-meadow flowers and relaxed eclectic venue styling. All of which actually involve a lot of creative genius behind the scenes!” Emma says: “To begin, prep the skin with a primer specifically formulated for your skin type. Next, apply foundation. Here I used a dewy formulation for a fresh, natural look before concealing the under-eye area. Set all of this with a light powder all over the face or just your T-zone if you have dry skin. Using a shadow brush, apply a warm bronze all over the lower part of the lid and just above the crease of the eye and along the lower lash line. Add a touch of highlight – I used gold for this look – before curling your lashes and adding mascara. For the lips, a peachy lipgloss works beautifully with a pinky blush on the cheeks. I used one with a touch of shimmer on this bride for a dewy look. Apply more bronzer to finish, using the number three as your guide. Start at the top of the forehead, brush along your cheekbones and sweep across the jawline.” MAKING WAVES: “For the hair, we went for the half-up, half- down look, with beach waves and fresh flowers strewn through the back.” joemallenphotography.co.uk #BRIDETRIBE Hair by @BeautyTheraMe Georgie says: “Finding the perfect style to suit your girls, while complementing your own can be tricky. A good starting point has to be the day’s theme and the time of year. For example, a winter wonderland wedding will lend itself to a very different look from nuptials in the sun. It’s best to take a steer away from the style you’ve chosen to wear yourself. Consider if you’ll be wearing your hair up or down. If you’re having a half up do, styling the girls similarly, but with all of the hair pinned up, can really complement your own look. Likewise, if you’ve chosen to dress your tresses with flowers or other accessories, smaller versions of these for the bridesmaids can look great to bring the whole party together. Some popular styles I’ve created of late include oversized Dutch braids, twisted up dos and romantic low buns. There are many videos online that demonstrate how to achieve various hairstyles, allowing the bride squad to do their own hair on the day if they prefer, or even just to practice and find the perfect look.”
